Team Wakamusha is the competition arm of 4K-Karate.
Team Wakamusha competes nationally and internationally with the goal of building confidence, achieving goals and having fun while excelling in life and in karate.
Our team members are excellent karate-ka and exceptional young men and women. Excelling in track & field, cross country, music, theater, tennis, hockey, debate, Math Olympics, archery, indoor skydiving, computer science, pilots, high school basketball phenoms, robot builders, volleyball, student council, rugby, baseball and every one of them Honor Roll students.
As members of Team Wakamusha students and team parents commit to excellence; Team members must maintain an A average, they are taught to and expected to behave impeccably and to display good sportsmanship as they represent their families, their team in competition in and away from the dojo.
Since inception in 2012, the team has met with success! We have competed and won in tournaments in Memphis Tn, Cincinnati OH, Dallas TX, Indianapolis IN, St. Louis MO, Pittsburgh PA, Louisville KY, New Orleans LA, Atlanta GA, Milwaukee WI., Washington D.C., Cleveland OH, Detroit MI, Toronto Canada and Dublin Ireland. Team Wakamusha members have amassed an amazing SIXTY-SIX National Championships competing in the PKC (Professional Karate Commission) NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association) and the WKC (World Karate Commission) competition circuits. Also representing the United States in Dublin Ireland as part of Team USA at the WKC World Championships.
Wakamusha means “Young Warrior”. A warrior is defined in Japanese Budo culture as a person who prepares and trains to the highest standards to fight in his/her clan’s battles. Samurai are known for having unparalleled courage, skill and morals. Team Wakamusha will continue to build success as we develop morally strong, hard working, courageous and courteous young people.
Congratulations to Team Wakamusha for an incredible 2017-2018 season. Total domination, 11 National Championships, 24 Top Ten Champions Award Winners, Multiple Regional Champions and the highest point average by far in the PKC. Averaging more than three times the next highest dojo.
